Firebird
Firebird
Firebird was a captivating story ballet staged by Ocean State Ballet in June 2022. We were absolutely delighted to feature guest artists Nations Wilkes-Davis and Joseph Boswell from Boston Ballet as part of our talented cast. Wilkes-Davis had a wonderful partnership with OSB student Catherine Galipeau, who performed brilliantly as the principal dancer in both Firebird and the Don Quixote pas de Deux.
Firebird, a tale of the eternal struggle between good and evil, draws its inspiration from various Russian folk tales and was initially introduced to audiences in Paris by the Ballet Russe in 1910. With choreography by the talented Vilia Putrius, breathtaking sets crafted by Mindaugas Bauzys, and captivating projections designed by Izabele Bauzyte, this production left our audience spellbound while nurturing the artistry of our exceptional students.
In the first segment of our performance, we presented a gala showcasing a splendid array of classical masterpieces alongside contemporary delights.
