Ballet class designed specifically for boys aged 9-11. This class focuses on improving coordination, flexibility, and strength while learning the fundamentals of ballet. Taught by an experienced male ballet teacher, students will develop essential ballet techniques. Whether new to ballet or continuing their dance journey, boys will find this class both challenging and rewarding.

Ocean State Ballet is proud to offer a full scholarship for the first year of training to all new students in our Boys Ballet Class.
We are committed to supporting young male dancers. No prior experience is necessary—just curiosity, energy, and the desire to dance!
Open Boys Ballet
Tiny Dancer
An introduction to movement and dance for our youngest dancers. Students will be exposed to music, dance games and imaginative play. Student must be age 3 no later than October 2025.

Pre-Ballet/Contemporary
This unique class blends the structure and technique of Pre-Ballet with the creativity and fluidity of Contemporary dance. Dancers will continue to build a strong ballet foundation—learning posture, coordination, and musicality—while also exploring expressive movement, floor work, and improvisation through contemporary styles. The combination encourages both discipline and creativity, helping young dancers develop strength, confidence, and artistry in a fun and supportive environment. Student must be age 7 no later than October 2025.

Pre-Ballet
For students who are ready to start learning the fundamentals of classical ballet. Pre-Ballet focuses on developing strength, balance, musicality and coordination. Student must be age 7 no later than October 2025.

Open Contemporary
This class invites teen dancers to explore contemporary movement. Dancers will develop strength, flexibility, and musicality while learning to express emotion and tell stories through movement. Class includes warm-up, center work, floor work, and choreography, with a strong focus on creativity, connection, and personal expression. Ideal for dancers looking to expand their artistry and explore new ways of moving. Not a drop in class. Enrollment is required.

Open Ballet 8-11
This open class is ideal for dancers ages 8–11 who are new to ballet or have some prior experience. The class focuses on building a strong foundation in classical ballet through barre and center work, while developing coordination, posture, strength, and musicality. Dancers will be supported at their individual level, with opportunities to progress at their own pace in a positive and encouraging environment. Perfect for those beginning their ballet journey or continuing to grow their skills. Not a drop in class. Enrollment is required.

This open class is designed for dancers with prior ballet experience who are looking to continue developing their ballet technique. Through structured barre and center work, dancers will refine alignment, strength, flexibility, and musicality. Ideal for dancers who are ready to deepen their training and expand their ballet vocabulary. Not a drop in class. Enrollment is required.
