Jennifer Davis

MSPT, Trainer at Physiotique Studio

physiotique.com

After surviving a debilitating accident at the age of 5 Jennifer was enrolled in dance classes to regain her freedom of movement.  She started with modern classes and moved on to ballet, studying with some of the most experienced teachers in NYC.

Jennifer’s interest in exercise training began in the early 80's with Pilates sessions at Corolla Trier's studio. She studied teacher training with Peter Vaillancourt, learning about teaching Pilates to dancers using the reformer and trapeze.

After dancing professionally for nearly 20 years, Jennifer retired as a soloist from Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.

In 2001 Jen earned a masters of science in physical therapy from the University of Rhode Island. She has specialty training in Dance Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation, Functional Dry Needling, Stott Pilates Certification, Pilates Academy International Suspension, Manual Physical Therapy and Orthopedics. Jen is a member of International Association for Dance Medicine and Science. Most recently she has worked on the Physical Therapy team at University Orthopedics in East Providence, RI, where she specializes in Dance injury Rehabilitation and serves as the physical therapist for Festival Ballet Providence.

Alexander “Sasha” Akulov

Personal Trainer

Alexander Akulov was born in Krasnodarskiy Krai, Russia and is a graduate of the Vaganova Academy of Ballet in St. Petersburg, Russia. As a professional ballet dancer, Sasha danced as a soloist in the Jakobson Ballet in Russia, in France with the Ballet du Capitole and in Germany with the Staatsballett Berlin. He spent six years as a principal dancer at Festival Ballet Providence in Rhode Island.

Through frustration brought on by dance related injuries, Sasha developed an appreciation and passion for fitness. While in Europe he was fortunate enough to work with some of the world’s finest physical therapists and trainers, it was there that he devised a training program to keep himself injury free. After returning to the US in 2019, he became a National Academy of Sports Medicine certified personal trainer and he now is training dancers and non-dancers alike.

I am a Rhode Island based Photographer and I want to tell your story. As an artist, my goal is to capture the moments that you never want to forget, creating natural, stunning, timeless photos.

I started my journey as professional ballet dancer and teacher, and for many years have always been fascinated with taking photos. I’ve also had the chance to be a model myself, so I know first hand how it feels to be on that side of the camera. Now it’s my turn to capture your exquisite memories that will last a lifetime.
