Ugly Duckling

Open Audition

Ugly Duckling returns this spring, bringing with it a beautiful story of transformation and hope. Through heartfelt storytelling, this ballet follows the journey of a misunderstood duckling who discovers its true self and blossoms into a magnificent swan.

We are excited to invite our youngest Ducklings to join the production of Ugly Duckling!

Open Audition

• Date: Sunday, January 11, 2026

• Time: 12:00–1:00 PM

• Location: Ocean State Ballet

• Who: Children ages 4–7 who are under 43 inches tall

• Audition fee: $20

• Experience: No dance experience required—just curiosity, joy, and a love of movement!

Performance

• Date: Saturday, May 30, 2026

• Time: 6:00 PM

• Location: The Woodman Center at Moses Brown School

Commitment & Rehearsals

Rehearsals will be held at Ocean State Ballet on Sundays from 3:30–4:30 PM on the following dates:

• February 8

• March 8 & 22

• April 12 & 19

• May 3

Studio Run-Through:

• Saturday, May 23 | 4:30–5:30 PM

Tech Rehearsal/The Woodman Center:

• Wednesday, May 27th

Dress Rehearsal/The Woodman Center:

• Friday, May 29th

Participation Fee: $100

This is a wonderful opportunity for young dancers to experience the joy of performing on stage in a supportive and nurturing environment. We hope your little one will join us for this special production!
